ABOUT
The Roots and Reels is my film criticism space where I explore how cinema shapes the way we see identity, emotion, and culture. My love for film began with Asian storytelling, where every frame feels both personal and universal. Over time, I grew interested in how Western perspectives often overlook the subtlety and depth within Asian cinema.
Through my writings, I aim to reclaim that narrative by looking beyond stereotypes and uncovering the truths hidden in light, color, and silence. For me, each review is a reflection of how I understand the world and myself, one reel at a time.
